Braces And Orthodontic Care
Braces and orthodontic care is about more than just cosmetics and a straight smile. Improper alignment can cause jaw pain and chewing dysfunction. Overcrowded teeth can be more susceptible to decay and the surrounding gums are more likely to develop periodontal disease.
How Orthodontic Treatment Works

Dr. Wayne Wyatt
Dr. Wyatt was an Academic All-American football player at the University of Arizona, where he earned his undergraduate degree and an MBA in 1997. He earned his dental DDS degree in 2001 at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated #1 in his dental school class. He earned his Master’s of Science and completed his orthodontic residency in 2003 at the University of Texas where he served as chief resident. He has received numerous awards, honors, certifications, and professional memberships both during and after his residency.

Dr. Byron Schroeder
Dr. Schroeder's passion for dentistry stems from its unique blend of art and science. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Medical Molecular Biology from Rogers State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. The blending of physics, biology, and engineering is what brought Dr. Schroeder to Orthodontics, but it’s the uniqueness of every case and the satisfaction of reaching the patient’s smile goals that keeps things fun.
Beyond the technical aspects, Dr. Schroeder thrives on interacting with patients of all ages. A natural people person, he finds joy in each patient's unique story and the opportunity to use dentistry to boost their confidence and improve their lives.
Practicing in the Tulsa area feels like a homecoming for Dr. Schroeder and his family. He and his wife, Monique, both grew up here, and he's always wanted to give back to his community. Together, they have two children, Brooklyn and Henry, and a fun-loving Goldendoodle named Winston.
When not in the office, Dr. Schroeder enjoys golfing, hiking, trying new restaurants, and traveling with his family. He's also an avid sports fan, cheering on his Sooners, the Thunder, and the Texas Rangers.
Types of Braces
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth by using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Clear Braces
Clear braces are made of clear materials like ceramic or sapphire and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, clear braces are a good option for older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. They are visually less prominent, and provide excellent results just like their metal counterparts!
Clear Aligners & Invisalign
Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable acrylic trays that straighten your teeth like braces. Not only are the aligners invisible, they are also removable; so, you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, this helps to make brushing and flossing less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. Our dental office offers both Invisalign and Invisalign Teen.
